When they acquired the consumer brand, Linksys, it strengthen that consumer focus. Branding the Wemo line of products in the Linksys name, Belkin is pushing hard into the smart home market. While Zwave and ZigBee set the standard for hub based smart home products, the consumer level products that use WiFi directly are easy to setup and use, albeit with a few negatives like the ability to control everything from a unified interface across companies.
