Xirrus Makes e-Learning Possible at Corona-Norco Unified School District
Corona High Replaces Existing Legacy Access Points with Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays to Support Wireless Initiatives
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., June 28 -- Xirrus®, the leader in High Performance Wi-Fi that delivers the most coverage, bandwidth, and user density in the industry, announced today the deployment of Xirrus high performance 802.11n Wi-Fi Arrays at several Corona-Norco Unified School District schools located in Southern California. The district recently implemented laptop carts to bring online curricular resources and e-Learning platforms into the classrooms. However, their existing wireless infrastructure could not support the user density produced by this initiative. In order to fully utilize the wireless clients, the school upgraded their wireless system to Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays, which provide 8X the bandwidth of legacy access points.

"Density is the biggest issue that we've had with wireless in our district," said Brian Troudy, IT Manager at Corona-Norco USD. "We've had serious issues being able to accommodate the laptop carts that we've deployed throughout the campuses. We had another wireless vendor installed but based on the density issues we knew we needed to look at an alternative.
