Social Network 'Jixtir' Connects Business Owners with Customers
BEND, Ore., July 2 -- Two Oregon professionals have unveiled an innovative website that provides a one-stop shop for both professional and personal networking.
Jixtir.com, which launched June 1, offers a wide array of options for networkers by linking personal and professional profiles with business interests, classified ads, events, forums, videos, articles, products and services. The site is fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter.
"No longer do professionals need to depend on multiple sites for networking and promoting their businesses," said Vince French, a small business owner and developer of Jixtir.com. "This is the first of its kind to truly combine the importance of business networking with the infinite advantages of online social networks."
French developed the site after realizing that many of his customers were members of online social networks, but were not participating in the several business networking groups in his area. His first solution was to create a local website for the two groups to connect, and due to its members' interest in networking with professionals globally, French launched Jixtir.com. Investor Donald "Shadow" Jones joined in May to help provide financing for the project.
Among its features, Jixtir.com allows users to gain points by engaging in nearly every type of activity possible on the site. At the end of each month, the top users win prizes, such as the current award of $1,000.
The unique features encourage members to utilize listings for businesses, real estate, automobiles and classifieds posted by other users, essentially creating an online cooperative. It also includes affordable advertising options designed for small businesses.
"This social network creates a mutually beneficial relationship between business owners, professionals and consumers alike," French said.
