Well, what can I say? There is no real clear “winner” in our tests; however it seems that Corsair’s XMS3000v1.1 is the memory to go with for gaming and overclocking purposes. Achieving 200MHz speeds with perfect stability is something to take into mind. I still think I can get this memory even higher with the right board. The Corsair XMS3000v1.1 comes along with a pre-installed black heat spreader which will help keep the SDRAM chips as cool as possible, especially when placed under heavy overclocking, gaming, or when a little extra voltage is needed to gain those last few MHz of speed. I think that Corsair’s XMS3000v1.1 deserves the MBReview.com Editor’s Choice Award for its incredible ability to overclock, stay stable, and still provide exceptional performance. We cannot overlook the Crucial PC2700 however as it too performed wonderfully. It did not achieve as high of an overclock as we saw with the Corsair RAM, but if you’re looking for some high quality, fast, and affordable PC2700 I would recommend Crucial PC2700 any day of the week. Therefore, the Crucial PC2700 does not walk away empty handed; I have decided to give it the MBReview.com Top Choice Award! I’d like to thank both Corsair and Crucial for supplying me with these modules. They will be used in all of our future motherboard reviews for overclocking, and compatibility testing!
