Pagos Announces Latest Version of SpreadsheetWEB Featuring Scripting Support and a New User Interface
FARMINGTON, Conn., July 20 -- Pagos, Inc., a leading developer of software solutions and IT consulting services, today announced the release of SpreadsheetWEB v3.0. Primary upgrades include scripting support and new Control Panel user interface.
SpreadsheetWEB is a web-based platform that enables spreadsheets to be published as fully-functional, database driven, browser accessible applications. SpreadsheetWEB supports most features in Microsoft Excel, including worksheet formulas, formatting, charts, pivot tables, validation, comments, filters and hyperlinks.
"We added scripting support in version 3.0, allowing users to develop custom code to interact with SpreadsheetWEB applications," said Ugur Kadakal, Ph.D., CEO of Pagos. "Scripting support is similar to what macros do for Excel; it allows users to expand the capabilities of SpreadsheetWEB. For example we have developed a sample script that integrates a SpreadsheetWEB form with PayPal. Our customers can develop their invoicing tools with SpreadsheetWEB and forward data to PayPal for completing the payment. One can write a script for any payment system as long as it has an api. Because we utilize javascript programming as the basis for our scripting support, users can integrate SpreadsheetWEB with various tools available on the internet."
Built on the knowledge that business users develop tools and applications in the Microsoft Excel platform, SpreadsheetWEB offers a cost effective and secure solution to web-enable them. Once those applications can be built in Excel, SpreadsheetWEB turns them into fully functional, database driven web applications or web enabled processes without requiring any IT resources.
Empowering business units to build and maintain business-owned web applications, SpreadsheetWEB eliminates the long and expensive process of rewriting business logic built in spreadsheets by business units. Because all spreadsheets are managed and accessed from one location, it allows IT departments to control the security of sensitive information contained in those spreadsheets and ensures a consistent data model across the organization.
Other new features in version 3.0 include 64bit and SQL 2008 support and a Connect to Workbook feature. For more information about SpreadsheetWEB 3.0, visit http://www.spreadsheetWEB.com.
