Verizon Wireless Kiosks to Open in All hhgregg Florida Stores
TAMPA, Fla., July 20 -- Verizon Wireless kiosks will open in all 21 Florida locations of hhgregg, providing customers the latest wireless products, services and other technology within the large appliance and consumer electronics stores.
The kiosks will operate like full-service Verizon Wireless stores, selling phones and accessories, as well as offering customers the ability to pay their Verizon Wireless bills or make changes to their current plans.
All 21 kiosks are scheduled to be open by the end of 2010.
"We're excited to be able to offer hhgregg customers the best in wireless technology," said Pam Tope, Florida region president for Verizon Wireless. "hhgregg is a growing, dynamic company that provides an outstanding setting and service to customers. We're proud to team up in their stores."
Based in Indiana, hhgregg currently operates about 160 stores in 15 states.
The Verizon Wireless kiosks will feature technology such as the latest Android, Blackberry and various multi-media and smartphones, plus netbooks, wireless aircards and more.
These devices run thousands of cutting-edge "apps" such as Skype Mobile and V CAST; and the vast choices in voice and data services made possible by the Verizon Wireless 3G high-speed broadband network, the nation's largest and most reliable.
Verizon Wireless has invested about $240 million in the past year in network enhancements in Florida and more than $2 billion since the company was formed to achieve this network superiority.
This year, Verizon Wireless plans to launch its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless services in 25 to 30 markets nationally. LTE will offer customers significantly greater network capacity than even today's most advanced 3G coverage.
