Long Term Care Insurance Goes Online; Reducing Paper Flow, Leading Agency Offers Applications by Internet

KIRKLAND, Wash., July 28 -- If you're in the market for long term care insurance but hate to fill out applications and wait, wait, wait, a leading agency has an alternative for you. Dispense with the paper and the delay; complete an electronic application, with live hand-holding, and get an answer pronto. The agency is LTC Financial Partners LLC (LTCFP), one of the nation's most experienced long term care insurance agencies.

The move beyond paper extends LTCFP's earlier move toward technological efficiency. In June, 2008, the company announced "going green" to save time and millions of gallons of gasoline per year -- through telephone interviews in place of the traditional in-home interview. The program offered convenience to consumers and doubled the productivity of some of LTCFP's agents, which numbered in the hundreds. In addition, the program eliminated long, gas-guzzling drives to consumers' homes. There was still that pesky paper application form to fill out, though. Here's how the new process works:

1. While on the phone with one of LTCFP's state-certified agents, you indicate you'd like to save time by submitting your application electronically.

2. If the policy you want supports electronic applications, the agent asks you questions and fills in the blanks on an Internet form via his or her computer. Acting as your "Internet chauffeur," the agent does all the work for you.

3. Once you've supplied all the necessary information, the electronic application is immediately transmitted to the insurance carrier for review. Often times, your application will be approved or declined within a few days, versus the 30 to 60 days it typically takes for a traditional paper policy.

LTCFP represents several long term care insurance carriers. Just one of them, LifeSecure Insurance Company, currently supports electronic applications in the broad market. "But going paperless is the wave of the future," says Denise Gott, LTCFP's Chairman of the Board. "In good time, we expect more of our carriers to offer the electronic application option. Another is already providing it on a limited basis."

A list of LTCFP's agents may be found on the company's website: http://www.ltcfp.com/. Currently LifeSecure serves 44 states. Working with multiple carriers, LTCFP serves individuals and organizations in all 50 states.
