Bling Nation Launches Introductory PayPal Program in Palo Alto to Tap-and-Pay for Local Purchases With Mobile Phone
Initiative Enables PayPal Employees and Early Adopters to Fund Bling Nation Purchases on their Mobile Phone to a PayPal Account
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 30 --
Bling Nation launched an introductory program in Palo Alto
to allow early adopters and PayPal employees to fund
purchases by linking the BlingTag(R) that is affixed to the
WHAT: back of their mobile phone to a PayPal account.
-----
PayPal is offering BlingTags to all of its more than 2,000
employees in its San Jose headquarters, enabling them to
make purchases throughout its entire campus and at
participating merchants throughout Palo Alto. They will
join other early adopters in the area to pay for lunch
and coffee without having to bring their bulky wallets
with them.
Bling Nation enables businesses and customers to connect
easily and securely, giving consumers the ability to
simply tap-and-pay for purchases at-the-point-of-
sale using a BlingTag. Bling Nation's initial program
leverages PayPal's open APIs, PayPal X, enabling more
flexibility of payment options for consumers. PayPal X
is designed to empower startups and developers to
WHO: innovate by giving them tools to monetize their ideas.
