StreamWIDE Expands Presence in CALA - Messaging Solution Deployed for Columbus Communications Inc.
LYNDHURST, New Jersey, August 12, 2010-- Columbus Communications Inc., a Caribbean-based telecommunications
provider operating in 22 countries, has selected StreamWIDE (Alternext Paris:
ALSTW), a leader in next generation value-added services, to supply the
centralized voicemail solution that will serve the residential and business
market segments of three of its subsidiaries: Flow Trinidad, Flow Jamaica,
and Flow Granada.
The StreamWIDE Messaging solution is replacing Columbus' legacy voicemail
platform and providing new value-added features. For instance, the Virtual
Network Operator (VNO) feature enables Columbus to deliver the service to its
different subsidiaries, while targeting different segments with customized
configurations, all from a single platform. Another example is the video
messaging capabilities that Columbus will be implementing in the coming
months.
"Columbus' scope of operations is large and complex, and network
resources need to be managed very efficiently in order to provide a
qualitative service with a fair price to the end users," said Luciano Ramos,
Director of Telephony Engineering for Columbus. "We believe that the
capabilities that StreamWIDE includes in its solution are unique assets that
will significantly streamline our business."
Migration from the previous platform was carried out smoothly, with
downtime prevented due to thorough coordination between the StreamWIDE,
Columbus, and Flow technical teams. The platform has been running without
interruption since the swap occurred in the summer of 2010.
"It is a pleasure to work with this exceptionally agile and dynamic
operator that is clearly looking for ways to be innovative and to offer its
customers the best possible services in the market. We applaud this effort
and are committed to continue helping Columbus achieve their ambitious
goals," declared Juan C. Sanchez, StreamWIDE Sales Director for the CALA
region.
