Bulbs.com Brightens Up the Lighting Category With New Web Site
Online Distributor of light bulbs and lighting accessories makes shopping faster and easier with new site design
WORCESTER, Mass., Aug. 13 -- Bulbs.com, one of the nations largest Philips Lighting distributors, has redesigned its web site to help commercial and residential customers find the right light bulb faster and easier, every time.
"Feedback from our customers was critical in helping us design our new Web site," says Bulbs.com CEO Mike Connors. "Using insight we rendered from our customer satisfaction data, consumer research and industry best practices, we developed a shopping experience that will get our customers to exactly the right product and through checkout faster and with fewer clicks. The site contains over 3,400 light bulbs, fixtures and accessories, so the right search tools, guided navigation and product images were upgraded to ensure that our customers get precisely the product they need," says Connors.
The new Bulbs.com Web site includes the following enhancements:
High Resolution Product Images - Each product detail page will have multiple high-resolution product images so buyers can see every detail of the product.
Find Similar Products - Makes shopping for alternatives fast and easy.
Light Reading - The new quarterly e-newsletter will keep subscribers informed on the latest lighting-industry information, including energy-efficient solutions and helpful tips from Bulbs.com Lighting Specialists.
Light Savers - Exclusive email program that will keep subscribers informed on discounts and other promotional offers.
"The new Web site also gives us an opportunity to launch a more compelling brand identity," says VP of Marketing Bryan Trainor. "An important element of our marketing and communications strategy is to establish Bulbs.com as a forward-thinking, innovative company that helps visitors select the best lighting option for every application. Working with our marketing agency Schupp Co in St. Louis, we made sure our value proposition to 'never leave a single customer in the dark' guided every aspect of our site design," says Trainor. "With the launch of the improved site now complete we are moving forward with several other enhancements intended to increase customer satisfaction including product ratings and reviews, a feature that will allow customers to assist each other with product selection. We also have plans to further improve BulbTrack®, a Bulbs.com exclusive tool that gives customers the ability to track usage of the bulbs they use in their business or home."
Over the next few months, several other site features will be added to the web site to further enhance the shopping experience.
