Manufacturing Executive Forms New Global Community for Innovative Leadership

Social Media-Based Website Facilitates Collaboration, Knowledge Sharing and Problem Solving

NEW YORK, Aug. 16 -- Managing Automation Media, the leading information resource for manufacturing executives, announced today the debut of the new Manufacturing Executive community platform built exclusively for global leaders in manufacturing.  The mission of Manufacturing Executive is to connect, educate, and support a global network of executives dedicated to building a stronger, more vibrant manufacturing industry worldwide. Full access to Manufacturing-Executive.com is available to paid members only for an annual fee of $249, with a free 14-day trial.

Manufacturing Executive will create the world's largest community of executives working within the manufacturing ecosystem, including manufacturers, academics, researchers, analysts, technology vendors, and service providers.  "Manufacturing Executive is the first site designed specifically for the manufacturing industry where content is generated by the community, moderated by editors, and enabled by a social media platform," said Publisher Heather Holst-Knudsen.

The site is built to encourage collective problem-solving. The community  will consist of professionals from around the world who use Manufacturing Executive's social networking platform Community Connect, crowdsourcing tool Experts Exchange, articles, blogs, and other rich content to connect, communicate, and collaborate anywhere, anytime.

Community Connect is the section of the site where paid members can link up with one another. With the ability to search by name, industry, field, or keyword to find other members with similar interests, members can brainstorm, discuss, and collaborate on the issues they find most important.

Experts Exchange allows members to pose problems and receive answers. Topics discussed might include how to conduct a strategic plan or how to best measure production line profitability, for example. Experts Exchange is a cost-effective, spin-free way to crowdsource answers to complex problems.

"Manufacturing is on the march to a great future," said David R. Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, Managing Automation Media. "Leaders who gravitate to this new community are committed to the idea that manufacturing can realize that better future through innovation, transformational business thinking and bold action."

The Council, Board and Community-Generated Content

Manufacturing Executive is guided by a Board and Council comprised of the world's leading manufacturing executives. The Manufacturing Leadership Council is a paid membership community tasked with brainstorming, debating, and voting on the most important issues in manufacturing today. Go to http://www.manufacturing-executive.com/council to learn more about Council membership.

The important issues serve as the foundation for generating discussion and ongoing dialogue within the community at large, and are re-evaluated annually. The Board and Council have identified seven critical issues, the "Hot Topics," facing manufacturing today:
