WinkBall Creates Notting Hill Carnival 'WonderWall'

LONDON, August 24, 2010--     The Notting Hill Carnival keeps getting bigger and better, and this year
more than 2 million people are expected to flood the streets of Notting Hill
on Sunday 29th and Monday 30th August 2010. There will be 300 music floats,
40,000 volunteers, and hundreds of food stalls selling Caribbean fare...

Local company WinkBall will capture the joy of Carnival via their website
- the UK's number 1 website for video. This year 100 of their citizen
reporters will speak to and film 20,000 Carnival revellers and upload their
views onto the ultimate Carnival video mega wall:
http://www.winkballcarnival.com.

To view the video follow this link:

This will be the biggest online archive of Notting Hill Carnival faces,
memories and emotions ever seen, with the video wall featuring every aspect
of the Carnival experience. It'll be a unique record of the bank holiday
weekend made by the people who make Carnival special - the people on the
street.

WinkBall launched their unique technology and approach to making everyday
people the stars of the web at last year's Carnival - and a wide range of
people supported their efforts - from masquerade (costume) bands to St John's
Ambulance, and luminaries such as Levi "Dragons' Den" Roots, film director
Don Letts, CMC Matrix DJs and many other artists who contribute to the
biggest street party in Europe. All footage can be seen at
http://www.winkballcarnival.com.

This year, WinkBall intends to double its efforts and add to this vault
of Carnival treasure with three times as many trained video reporters
capturing the street party magic.

WinkBall's unique technology means anyone can add their thoughts and
experiences and tell the world about their Carnival at the click of a button.

Dr James Ohene-Djan, Senior Lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London
and co-founder of WinkBall, is the brains behind the WinkBall technology.
Recently returned from the World Cup in South Africa, James wants to do for
Carnival what he did in South Africa - create a unique record of a massive
social event.

He said: "WinkBall is proud to be based in the centre of the Carnival
route and last year's campaign was such a huge success we're doubling our
efforts this time around. We hope WinkBall's Notting Hill Carnival 2010 will
be like a time capsule - a classic example of citizen video for the digital
Britain of tomorrow. Video is the perfect medium to showcase the amazing time
people have when they are at Carnival, and our technology allows people to
share that video with their friends and family who can't make it, who can
also get involved via their webcam, wherever they are!"
