Avineon, Inc. Introduces Readiness Index(TM) Tool for Measuring Emergency Preparedness
Webinar series to demo software's capabilities to continuously monitor an organization's readiness for natural and malicious emergencies
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 30 -- Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering, and program management solutions, announced today that its online Readiness Index(TM) tool will debut in September, during the Department of Homeland Security's National Preparedness Month (NPM 2010). The Readiness Index(TM) provides businesses with the opportunity to measure their emergency preparedness and will be introduced through a series of webinar demonstrations.
The Readiness Index(TM) is a secure online system with the functionality to measure and monitor emergency preparedness against a 1 through 100 scale. On a daily basis, the system computes an overall readiness index for the organization and also a readiness index by emergency type. Organizations such as government agencies (local, state, and federal), utility companies (electric, gas, telecommunications, water, and wastewater), nuclear power plants, oil and gas exploration and recovery, mining, airports, mass transit providers, hospitals, hospitality industries (hotels, theme parks, etc.), industries (chemical and pharmaceutical), and schools (primary through university) can use this cost-effective tool to continuously monitor their level of preparedness for a wide range of disasters.
"It is our pleasure to launch the new Avineonics Readiness Index(TM) during the Department of Homeland Security's National Preparedness Month," said Karlu Rambhala, president and CEO of Avineon. "With Americans facing constant threats, both natural and malicious, to their systems and infrastructure, emergency preparedness and business continuity are more important now than ever before. This online tool offers a sensible and practical alternative for organizations to measure and monitor their readiness, equipping them to proactively make the adjustments necessary to drive preparedness to their desired state."
During the month of September, Avineon will host four webinars to demonstrate the online tool's capabilities for taking an all-hazards approach to include emergencies such as cyber attacks, earthquakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, oil spills, pandemics, storms, and acts of terrorism.
Webinar attendees will be able to take advantage of a 30-day free trial of the Readiness Index(TM) software. Webinars will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. For further information about the tool or registering for one of the live demonstrations, please visit http://www.avineon.com/sol_ri.asp.
