Rebuilding Together and Cricket Work Together for Flood Victims
Cricket, Rebuilding Together Nashville Renovate Flood Homes
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 1/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cricket Communications Inc., a leading provider of value-driven wireless services, and Rebuilding Together Nashville are joining forces to help to repair and restore homes, revitalize the community and make a lasting impression on the many volunteers who are donating their time on Saturday, Oct. 2.

A team of volunteers will help flood victims in the Nashville area by providing home repairs and making houses safer, more accessible and energy efficient. On Saturday, many of the homeowners in the neighborhood Rebuilding Together is working in currently will be moving back in their homes for the first time since May.

"Cricket has demonstrated a dedicated effort to serve the low-income homeowners that we at Rebuilding Together Nashville are so committed to serving - especially the flood victims we are helping this weekend."
Throughout the course of the fall, Cricket will complete projects in several cities, including Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia and Houston. The projects are all intended to help low-income homeowners and perform extensive rehabilitations to their homes.

Hands On Nashville and Rebuilding Together Nashville are committed to restoring 75 flood-damaged homes with support from these corporate partners and others, including the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. By Oct. 2, volunteers will have completed 26 homes with Hands On Nashville and Rebuilding Together Nashville, supplying an average of $10,000 in construction materials, as well as skilled and unskilled volunteer labor for each home.
Homeowners qualifying for the program must meet Rebuilding Together Nashville's five partnership criteria. They include:
-- Homeowners must be low-income, earning 80 percent of the median income
or less.
-- Homes must be single-family residences.
-- No property taxes can be owed on these residences.
-- Homes must be permanent, free-standing structures.
-- Homes must be remediated and ready for rebuilding and to accept
volunteers.
