ViXS Expands Its Advanced Media Processing Solutions Offering New System-On-Chip Multimedia Processor
Newest product in the XCode(R) 4200 series offers dual high definition (HD) decode, advanced 3D graphics, 3D TV and internet protocol (IP) content decoder
TORONTO, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ - ViXS Systems Inc., a leading provider of smart network multimedia processors that enable a rich video entertainment experience, today announced the expansion of its XCode(R) 4200 family of multimedia processors with the introduction of the XCode(R) 4205. The XCode(R) 4205 further strengthens ViXS' offering in the Blu-ray and set-top box market and is designed to enable manufacturers to rapidly design and deploy next generation broadcast content; playback of 1080p high definition video; Blu-ray 3D TV MVC decode; and Over-The-Top (OTT) delivered content.
The XCode(R) 4205 is highly adaptable and scalable, allowing manufacturers to build a range of Blu-ray and set-top box receivers - from basic solutions to full featured high-end PVR set-top boxes. ViXS believes this highly integrated system-on-chip (SOC) also brings a new level of concurrency and integration to the set-top box, simultaneously delivering dual channel HD with advanced 3D graphics. In addition, the XCode(R) 4205 supports a full suite of both legacy 3D TV and full HD 3D TV through ViXS' advanced media processing. The XCode 4205(R) also enables IP OTT video services, as well as a wide range of digital rights management (DRM) and conditional access (CA) security.

ray quality decoding in the set-top box. Supports all standard and
proprietary legacy and true HD modes, including Blu-ray and MVC.
- Powerful applications and network processors delivering 3,000 DMIPS.
- High system throughput over Ethernet - up to 400 megabits real
socket-to-socket throughput to allow interfacing and controlling high
bandwidth HD networking.
- Independent concurrent IP codec content decoder for OTT video
decoder/processor.
- Full suite of peripherals, including: dual SD memory card support,
dual Serial ATA, dual gigabit Ethernet, video in/out, HDMI, and
