Gnip Announces Power Track: Twitter Firehose Filtering for Businesses is Here
Today Gnip announced unprecedented access to Twitter data by unveiling the "Power Track" data feed which delivers full Twitter firehose filtering based on its customers' filtering criteria.
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- O'Reilly Strata Conference -- Social media data delivery company Gnip today unveiled a new Twitter data feed which guarantees access to 100% of Tweets that match filtering criteria its customers provide. Despite longstanding demand, never before has an official Twitter data feed with 100% coverage been available from any business other than Twitter.
In November 2010, Gnip partnered with Twitter to become the first authorized reseller of Twitter data worldwide. At that time, the first official data feeds to be derived from the Twitter firehose began to be sold to businesses everywhere. Today's announcement represents a milestone in the data delivery marketplace: Twitter firehose filtering is available from a data reseller for the first time.
For example, developers who have a list of brands to monitor for conversations on Twitter can now supply their list to Gnip and receive guaranteed delivery of 100% of matching Tweets. Power Track can even match terms inside of URLs, including URLs that are obscured by shortened URLs such as bit.ly links. Power Track has no volume limitations, so your list can be as long or short as you like. Power Track costs $2,000 per month plus $0.10 per 1000 Tweets delivered. Like the other Twitter feeds from Gnip, the new Power Track feed is only available for purchase by companies that do not display Tweets to the general public.
