U.S. Circuits Takes Delivery of New Direct-Write Digital Imaging (DI) System From Maskless Lithography

PCB Industry in Transition as Maskless' New DI Systems Sharply Reduce Cost Per Core for PCB Makers

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Maskless Lithography, Inc., a leading supplier of digital imaging technologies to the global printed circuit board (PCB) industry, announced today that U.S. Circuits, Inc. has taken delivery of Maskless Lithography's innovative direct-write imaging systems (DI) at its Southern California facility.

As the limitations of contact printing become increasingly apparent, particularly as the PCB industry approaches 50 micron feature sizes, customers are quickly turning their attention to Maskless' direct-write imaging technologies, commonly known as DI.  Direct write imaging achieves more than twice the throughout of conventional digital technologies like laser direct imaging (LDI) and dot matrix, which also require costly special resist and other support features.  Maskless Lithography's MLI-2024 DI products are offering the best total cost of ownership for customers performing ultra-quick turn prototyping, or volume production of high layer counts and high density interconnects (HDI) solutions.
