American Wagering's Leroy's® App© For Android Operating Systems Completes Field Trial
LAS VEGAS, April 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Wagering, Inc.: (OTC Bulletin Board: BETM), a leading sports wagering service and technology provider, announced today that the Nevada Gaming Control Board informed the Company that its field trial is completed and it can now move forward with full deployment of their Leroy's® APP© for Android operating system. The approval allows the Company to immediately move forward into the fastest growing segment of the smartphone industry.
"We are very happy that the Nevada Gaming Control Board approved our latest release for the Android phones. This is the second successful field trial that we have completed. The Leroy's® APP© is two for two. We are committed to being the leader in smartphone sports betting technology and we just took a big step forward with today's field trial completion," stated Vic Salerno, CEO and President, of American Wagering Inc.
A field trial is a standard practice for new technology and provides a timeframe for the regulators to review the product to ensure that it is suitable for distribution to the public. The new Leroy's® APP© for Android passed the field trial period and the company can now move forward with the numerous different Android smartphone models on all four major phone carriers.
American Wagering has been featured on television, in the news, and has made a huge impact on the gaming industry with their innovative mobile betting technology. Currently only available for sports betting in Nevada the Company says the technology has many other uses and benefits that will be pursued as they move forward.
"Once again we have shown to our state gaming regulators that we can and will deliver secure and practical solutions for mobile wagering. We are thrilled that they have allowed us to move forward with Android," stated John English, Senior Vice President of American Wagering. "Unlike others, we do not announce a product without having it ready for the market place," added English.
"We have also asked the Nevada Control Board for approval of our first new tablet application on Android. The graphics are vivid and the app just looks great on these devices. The beauty of the tablet is once approved, like the phone, it can be used anywhere in the state and you don't need to be in the casino. Its going to have all of our same features like in game betting and propositions and we have a lot more screen real estate to work with," further added Salerno.
The Company has already begun marketing the Leroy's® APP© for Android phones and has developed interfaces for the tablets as they are developed. Its expected there will be many different options available in both Android smartphones and tablets such as size, shape, manufacturers, etc.
"The Leroy's® APP© is a great fit on the Android operating system. There will be many options in both tablets and phones that will be cost effective and user friendly. We have been testing them here at the office and we just love the feel and the ease of using these devices. This is a huge step forward for us and we are just getting started.
