ViewCast Announces Two New Osprey Video Capture Cards for Multi-stream, Multi-platform Delivery
Osprey® 260e and 460e video capture cards continue ViewCast's strong tradition of high-quality streaming performance
PLANO, Texas, April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST), a developer of industry-leading solutions for the transformation, management and delivery of digital media over enterprise, broadband, and mobile networks, today announced the availability of two new Osprey® video capture cards - the Osprey 260e and Osprey 460e. Both cards are designed to work with industry standard media encoding applications including Microsoft Expression Encoder and Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, and are ideally suited for broadcasters, enterprises, governments and OEM system integrators looking for high-quality, reliable solutions for webcasting, live streaming, podcasting, mobile TV, video on demand and/or surveillance applications.

By adding SimulStream® to either card, users can encode content in multiple formats, bit rates and resolutions - simultaneously, from a single video source, to reach the expanding variety of devices available to consumers for viewing media content wherever they are.
Both the Osprey 260e and 460e cards optimize the PCI Express (PCIe) bus architecture to unleash the power of modern multi-core PC engines with unfettered access to all PC resources. This capability means more power for the most demanding streaming applications.
The Osprey 260e provides one channel selectable between composite, component, or Y/C video and balanced or unbalanced audio in a low profile form factor, ideal for compact system enclosures. The Osprey 460e card is designed to simultaneously capture four independent channels of analog video and unbalanced stereo audio signals and process them independently, minimizing internal PC space requirements. The channel density offered by the Osprey 460e dramatically reduces total system cost by increasing the capture capacity within a single system.
The 460e A/V option also provides additional video inputs and four stereo balanced audio inputs to the rear panel connectors. The optional video inputs include the selection of component or Y/C (S-Video) for each of the 4 channels or 3 additional composite inputs for a total of 16 switchable composite inputs per card.
