ActiveBatch® Job Scheduling and Workload Automation Receives the Informatica Seal of Approval

Informatica's approval means another point of certified integration for customers of Advanced System Concept's flagship Job Scheduling/Workload Automation Platform

MORRISTOWN, N.J., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. (ASCI), maker of ActiveBatch® Workload Automation and Job Scheduling Software, today announced it has received the Informatica Seal of Approval for the ActiveBatch Extension for Informatica. The approval represents yet another point of "Script Free" integration with a leading, mission critical application, allowing ActiveBatch users to build workflows that integrate disparate applications, databases and technologies, seamlessly and efficiently.

The Informatica Seal of Approval is the result of a rigorous lifecycle testing and validation of up to 30 days by the Informatica Marketplace Certification Team. This comprehensive validation process is based on different sets of criteria, including functional specifications, assessment of architecture and workflow with screenshots and validation of use cases with end-to-end demonstrations.

"The announcement is another example of our unique approach to job scheduling," says Jim Manias, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Advanced Systems Concepts.  "We've chosen to do the heavy lifting for our customers, eliminating scripting by providing them with Integrated Job Steps for many industry leading applications, databases and technologies. In this case, it's with the world's number one independent provider of data integration software. We are delighted with the approval of ActiveBatch by the Informatica Certification Team."

The ActiveBatch Extension for Informatica supports Informatica PowerCenter and allows users to build "mixed" workflows by coupling them with databases, applications and technologies, across heterogeneous platforms for improved business process automation. Informatica users that require advanced scheduling capabilities can benefit from the ActiveBatch Extension by being able to better manage and control workloads and tasks across disparate systems while improving service levels.

ActiveBatch customers using the Informatica Integrated Job Steps can manage tasks within applications such as Informatica, SAP or Oracle, databases such as SQL Server, Netezza or MySQL, and integrate them via technologies such as OpenPGP, PowerShell, Java and Web services. From one interface, users can create, modify, implement and monitor virtually any job task. Users can trigger workflows based on events, other processes, data and time schedules and more.

"By awarding the Seal of Approval, Informatica has certified that the ActiveBatch Extension has passed a stringent validation process that ensures compatibility and interoperability with the Informatica Platform," said Tony Young, CIO, Informatica. "The Informatica Marketplace is an open market that brings together buyers and sellers from around the globe to purchase and promote proven data integration solutions, and ActiveBatch is an excellent example of the high quality solutions available there."

The ActiveBatch Extension for Informatica is one of many extensions ActiveBatch offers for mission critical applications. Others include SAP, Netezza, VMware and support for Microsoft System Center, including Operations Manager, Virtual Machine Manager and Service Manager.
