Lancope to Demonstrate Flow-based Network Visibility and Forensic Intelligence with StealthWatch System at Infosecurity Europe

LONDON, April 18, 2011/PRNewswire/ --

    - New StealthWatch 6.0 leverages flow data from existing infrastructure
to improve security, network and application performance

Lancope, Inc., a leader in flow-based security, network and application
performance monitoring, will demonstrate the next generation of its powerful
StealthWatch System at Infosecurity Europe taking place April 19-21 in
London. StealthWatch delivers end-to-end network visibility and greater
forensic intelligence for organisations seeking to address the challenges
introduced by IT consumerisation, user mobility and cloud computing. Higher
education customer, Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam (GLR), will also attend the
show to provide first-hand insight into how flow-based monitoring can
dramatically improve security posture and network operations for
organisations of all sizes.

"StealthWatch provides organisations worldwide with the in-depth network
intelligence they need to maintain strong security and deliver high
performance across massive, widely distributed networks," said Mike Potts,
president and CEO of Lancope. "In today's constantly evolving technology
environment, with more and more traffic and applications flooding enterprise
networks and cyber attacks growing in sophistication on a daily basis,
organisations can no longer afford to ignore areas of their infrastructure
for which they have no visibility. Amid today's security landscape,
end-to-end visibility is a necessity, not just an option."

StealthWatch leverages NetFlow(TM), sFlow(R) and other flow data from
existing routers and switches to deliver comprehensive visibility across
physical and virtual networks. The system eliminates network blind spots,
cuts costs and dramatically reduces the time from problem onset to
resolution. In addition to detecting sophisticated, externally-launched
attacks that often bypass perimeter defenses, StealthWatch can also uncover
internal threats such as policy violations, network misuse, misconfigurations
and data leakage that traditional security solutions cannot detect.

Alongside flow-based monitoring and anomaly detection, the system
features advanced capabilities such as application and identity awareness to
further expedite troubleshooting, assist in forensic investigations and
support compliance initiatives. StealthWatch is scalable to meet the needs of
even the largest networks, analyzing up to 1.5 million flows per second.

Key new capabilities in StealthWatch 6.0 include:
-- Application performance monitoring via behavioural analysis and deep
packet inspection to detect application-level issues
-- Relational flow mapping to provide real-time, graphical views of
network traffic to more easily uncover problems
-- Grouping of related hosts to analyse the traffic between them and
quickly detect anomalies and assess performance
-- Advanced reporting capabilities to retrieve the exact data and level
of detail needed and simplify the creation of high-level reports for
       management and compliance initiatives

"For today's large, dynamic network environments, traditional,
perimeter-based security solutions are no longer enough," said Adam Powers,
CTO at Lancope. "With growing trends such as globalisation, IT
consumerisation, virtualisation and user mobility, the network perimeter has
quickly vanished. This new environment requires organizations to seek out
innovative solutions such as StealthWatch that provide more robust and
reliable security by detecting a comprehensive range of threats across all
segments of the network."

Lancope will exhibit the StealthWatch System in Booth B29 at Infosecurity
Europe in Earls Court, London. Lancope CTO Adam Powers and Grafisch Lyceum
Rotterdam Network Engineer Mark Pleunes will jointly present "How to Monitor
Network Performance & Security on the College Campus," in the Technical
Theatre on Wednesday, April 20 at 4:00 pm BST (
