When It's a Question of Email Security, Encryptics® Is the Answer

DALLAS, July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NL Systems LLC Chief Operations Officer/Chief Technology Officer, Brandon Hart, will announce the launch of its latest product, Encryptics®, at FOSE (Federal Office Systems Exposition), July 19-21, 2011 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C. Booth #837.

FOSE, the country's largest government information technology event, celebrates its 35th year. It brings more than 10,000 senior-level IT decision makers from federal, state, local and international government together to learn, network, and evaluate solutions from over 400 industry partners.

Hart said, "Encryptics is a Trusted Peer-to-Peer® platform for the safe delivery of digital information via email. Many other encryption applications are simply server-based. The Encryptics email encryption application is the first trusted peer-to-peer option on the market. This means the email content never resides on Encryptics servers, instead it travels directly from the author/sender to the recipient(s). Encryptics servers are utilized only for user authentication and validation.

"We chose FOSE to introduce Encryptics because this audience is acutely aware that, as the backbone of government and corporate electronic communications, emails must be secure. Most companies spend lots of time and money on anti-virus software, firewalls, and passwords to protect their computer systems from hackers. Increasingly, they are seeing a need to protect their incoming and outgoing emails from security breaches. This is especially true for government agencies, hospitals, insurance companies, and financial institutions, handling information that must be kept private."

Encryptics can send encrypted emails through email clients or Internet-based services including Microsoft Outlook(TM), Gmail, Yahoo Mail Plus, AOL, and more. For those desiring an alternative email application, Encryptics has a fully functioning email client.

"We're different for a number of reasons: the Encryptics application secures a new message as soon as the sender makes the request. All of the keys are generated on the fly by both the software that's installed on the PC and the server that's utilized for authentication and key generation. Our system utilizes multiple keys, including public and private, to secure the email and its attachments. We utilize multiple layers of encryption, including military-grade, to lock down your digital communications. In theory, it would require a device that could check a billion billion AES keys per second (if such a device could even be made) about 3x10 to the 51st power in years to exhaust the total number of possible keys.

"We offer True Digital Rights Management (DRM) allowing the sender to apply restrictions to their email so that when the recipient receives it, the software knows whether or not they are allowed to copy, forward, print, or save it. Your email message, DRM settings, unique AES 256 key, and other pertinent information is ultimately bundled into a proprietary .SAFE file, then sent to the recipient(s).

"Because we utilize an authentication server we have the ability to control access to the encrypted emails at any given time. If a client loses a laptop, our administrator can deactivate that specific piece of hardware. One of the things we do that's unique is ensure that the party receiving the email is truly the one intended by the sender. During the installation of Encryptics, we create a Digital Signature, or a hardware ID, for the PC you are registering. We know that the person opening your secure .SAFE file is who you intended to open it. Without proper authentication from the Encryptics server, the user cannot open the message. The process of attempting to open a message when you are not a valid recipient triggers a 'red flag' as a possible email breach. This is important, particularly in instances of attempted hacking. Let's say cybercriminals create a false website, and visitors to the site enter their information, Encryptics Hardware ID protects. Even if hackers have an email address and password our .SAFE file won't open because the request is coming from a PC that is not authorized. That's Encryptics."
