Neudesic Launches Pulse 2.0: Dynamic and Strongly Integrated New Social Capabilities for Enterprise Communities
New version of enterprise social software includes Social Tasks feature for focused online team-building and collaboration
IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Neudesic, an innovative provider of enterprise social software, announced the general availability of Neudesic Pulse 2.0. Neudesic Pulse 2.0 includes many new features and enhancements designed to further improve, transform and modernize the way people communicate online in the workplace. The latest release includes the addition of social tasks and groups features for focused online team building and collaboration, as well as deep integration with Microsoft SharePoint and UI enhancements.
Social enterprise industry experts have recently spoken up about the importance of evolving business communication paradigms to include enterprise social software solutions like Neudesic Pulse. "It is no longer a question of if an enterprise should invest in social software, but when, from which provider and for what business purposes," according to a recent Gartner report.
"With Pulse, we're a more connected and informed organization," said Phil Scott, senior vice president of enterprise services at Word & Brown. "We look forward to the fundamental positive changes that will continue to take place in our culture using Pulse over time."
New features in Neudesic Pulse 2.0 include:
-- Pulse Social Tasks: The Social Tasks feature makes the process of
assigning, tracking and managing tasks social. Pulse enables users to
create a whole conversation around a task which makes project management
more collaborative so users can get work done faster.
-- Deep integration with Microsoft SharePoint: Neudesic Pulse 2.0 takes
users beyond simple web pages in My Site. They can have conversations at
the document level, follow documents or any entity in SharePoint and be
notified when changes take place. With Neudesic Pulse Unified Activity
Stream, a social conversation that takes place in Dynamics CRM, Office
365 or any business system is surfaced in SharePoint. With the Neudesic
Pulse Unified Social Embed feature, those same conversations can reside
in any application used by the enterprise.
-- Pulse Groups: Users can create internal groups for work with other users
in their enterprise or create external groups to securely collaborate
with customers and partners using Pulse Bridge. The groups feature
enables them to share files and links, assign tasks and find answers and
experts from one location. They can even assign their group a custom
email address and collaborate via Outlook as well.
-- Extensive UI Enhancements: Pulse version 2.0 offers more than 100
interface enhancements, including a significantly streamlined navigation
and search experience.
Neudesic Pulse 2.0 was showcased during the Microsoft SharePoint Conference in Anaheim last week which featured a Pulse customer panel session made of three leading organizations. Many of Neudesic's SharePoint customers leverage Neudesic Pulse's unique ability to capture a Unified Activity Stream of all conversations across the enterprise ecosystem and surface it in a meaningful way in SharePoint.
"We see businesses everywhere looking for more efficient and better ways to be productive and connect with each other and with customers," said Neudesic CEO Parsa Rohani. "Neudesic Pulse 2.0 addresses these needs and fundamentally enhances the way an enterprise operates. Companies with hundreds or thousands of employees across distributed teams suddenly become more connected and tightly integrated."
