ARDefender [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFYr6gZL1Z4 ], the most
successful Augmented Reality game on Smartphone yet, has been refreshed with
a brand new engine and a special game mode to celebrate Halloween, available
now on iOS.
ARDefender is a variation of the popular Tower Defense genre, but
tailored to use the camera and immerse the player directly into the playing
field.
The goal is to defend the tower and use different weapons, machinegun,
lasers and rocket launcher to destroy the enemies.
Step one is to create a marker. It could be printed from the web site or
hand drawn on a white piece of paper, simply draw seven black dots and you
can play, the game will even recognize that you used a hand drawn marker and
give you a special bonus for the effort.
The tech side
ARDefender is built on top of ARWiz, the proprietary marker tracking
library made by int13, which is by far the fastest and most robust AR
toolkit for mobile devices.
