Rock & Dirt Expands Marketing to Include Social Media
CROSSVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Like many publications, Rock & Dirt, the preeminent "buy/sell" resource for the heavy construction industry, is embracing social media to enhance its marketing effort.
"Rock & Dirt is finding new ways to connect with buyers and sellers," said Travis Clark, sales manager. "The main reason that we have created a social media presence is that we want to create lifelong customers and build our relationships with them."
Presently, Rock & Dirt's social media marketing strategy includes Facebook and Twitter. The publication's Facebook page can be found at http://www.facebook.com/RockAndDirt and its Twitter address is http://twitter.com/rockanddirt.
Clark explained that there are also other benefits associated with Rock & Dirt's social media outreach, including driving website traffic and generating leads.
"Social media outlets are helping us expand our market reach and grow our business," remarked Clark. "Buyers and sellers can view specials from our advertisers, along with reading other information posted on our pages," he added.
Clark said that buyers could easily share web listings from RockandDirt.com with their friends on Facebook and Twitter by accessing the website's useful sharing tools. In addition, users can also share with others through LinkedIn.
"Whether buyers are in the market for a piece of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, or parts and attachments, they can always find great specials from reputable sellers at RockandDirt.com," commented Clark. "Now, it's easier for them to communicate with others about those listings and other web content," he concluded.
Since 1950, Rock & Dirt is published three times monthly and mailed to contractors in every state of the U.S. and more than 130 other countries. Each print issue focuses on a specific U.S. region: Eastern, Central and Western. The print edition contains a section for Parts & Attachments, as well as Equipment, Trucks & Trailers, Cranes and Auctions/Events.
RockandDirt.com mirrors the print edition and is similarly organized. In addition to category icons, buyers can use a number of search techniques, including keyword, manufacturer, year and state. Continuously updated, the site also features auction results and free want-to-buy listings.
Rock & Dirt is published by TAP Publishing, which has operated since 1937 in Crossville, TN. For more information, email Travis Clark, sales manager, at tclark@rockanddirt.com, or call 800-251-6776 or 931-484-5137.
