Trend Micro extends security leadership in healthcare market as a founding member of the Medical Device Innovation, Safety and Security Consortium.
CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global cloud security leader, today renewed its commitment to the security of the nation's critical healthcare infrastructure and announced its membership in the Medical Device Innovation, Safety and Security Consortium (MDISS).
As a founding member, Trend Micro joins the U.S.-based, non-profit Consortium in helping to protect public health and well-being by advancing IT risk management practices to ensure the wide availability of innovative and safe medical devices.
Beyond the security concerns facing most industries, healthcare is confronted with a unique set of threats that pose additional risks to its critical infrastructure:
