Facebook users can stream 5 STAR DAY straight from its Facebook fan page  http://www.facebook.com/5StarDayfilm. The film streams from an application built specifically for Facebook, and can be watched full-screen. For consumers, it will cost 70 Facebook credits, or $7, to rent the movie for 48 hours. The film's application can also be accessed from dozens of Facebook pages that cater to themes covered in the movie including: astrology, spirituality, and self improvement or feature stars Cam Gigandet and Jena Malone.

"This first of its kind 'day and date' theatrical and Facebook release will allow consumers immediate access to one of the most anticipated films of the Fall. It is great that the conversations following the film will happen both in theatres and on Facebook," remarked Nolan Gallagher Founder and CEO of Gravitas Ventures.

In Danny Buday's debut feature 5 STAR DAY, Jake Gibson's (Cam Gigandet) horoscope forecasts a flawless day the morning of his birthday. Little does he realize, his entire world is about to be turned upside down as everything that could go wrong -- does.  Now, determined to disprove the theory of Astrology, Jake embarks on a journey to find the three people born the same time and place as himself: a single mom haunted by her past (Jena Malone), an overworked nurse (Brooklyn Sudano) and an undiscovered jazz singer (Max Hartman). What Jake learns along the way is an important lesson about life, love, fate and destiny that will unexpectedly change his life forever.

Breaking Glass Pictures CEO Rich Wolff added, "It is amazing to be part of making film history and 5 Star Day is making just that - as the first film ever to released simultaneously in theaters, VOD and on Facebook."

For theatre goers, 5 STAR DAY will play at the Quad Cinemas in New York City and the Laemmle Sunset 5 in Los Angeles. For those not in NYC or LA, the film will be available on Facebook as well as nationwide in over 100 million homes on Video On Demand with leading cable, satellite, telco and online operators.

Cam Gigandnet recently joined the cast of TNT's upcoming 1880's period Western series, "Gateway," as one of the leads, playing Jake Flynn, a young untamed cowboy. He was previously seen in The Twilight Saga, Easy A with Emma Stone, and Burlesque, with Christina Aguilera and Cher. Jena Malone was most recently seen in the sci-fi pic, Sucker Punch, and has portrayed a slew of memorable characters in films such as Saved!,Donnie Darko, and Pride & Prejudice.

The unique 5 STAR DAY Facebook application was built by CSG International's Content Direct, a provider of powerful consumer experiences that turn digital content into revenue for Movie Studios, TV Networks, Sports Leagues, Cable TV companies and other premium content providers. By leveraging Content Direct(TM), 5 STAR DAY was able to offer fans an outstanding Facebook consumer experience, fully integrated with Facebook credits.
