TruthSeal Launches Marketplace for Truth Telling
SILICON VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Truth Seal Corp. (TruthSeal(TM)), dedicated to increasing truth and trust throughout the Internet and information space, today announced the launch of its Marketplace for Truth Telling(TM). TruthSeal will immediately begin reviewing commercial and political claims submitted by organizations wanting to display a TruthSeal emblem as evidence that their claims are factual. A TruthSeal license requires claims to be guaranteed with a cash bond that can be forfeited if the claim is proven invalid by a third party. This combination of verifiable evidence and a forfeitable bond strengthens the claims of TruthSeal licensees, providing a guarantee of truth and competitive advantage over rivals.
Companies and individuals can apply for seals through the http://www.truthseal.com website. Once claims are validated and guaranteed, licensees can exhibit the TruthSeal mark in all digital and conventional media. The TruthSeal mark signifies that the statement is true, verifiable, and backed by a monetary guarantee. People with contrary evidence can submit challenges on the same website. TruthSeal area specialists adjudicate the challenges and determine whether a bounty should be paid for invalid claims. TruthSeal maintains a public record of guaranteed statements and falsified claims, and withholds licenses from any entity with multiple invalidated claims during a 5-year period.
Rick Hayes-Roth, a respected information scientist, IT executive, and author, founded TruthSeal, with a team of 10. Other Directors of the company include serial entrepreneur Mark L. Feldman, Ph.D., and distinguished attorney Arthur F. Silbergeld, J.D. An elite Board of Advisors will consult on the most effective ways to increase public trust in statements bearing TruthSeal marks. The initial Advisors include Frederick Grauer, former Chairman and CEO of Barclays Global Investors; George Lakoff, noted author and Berkeley professor; and Neil Jacobstein, co-chair of Al and Robotics and former President of Singularity University.
The Company also has developed TruthSpot(TM),a social network game to engage millions of players in proving or disproving public statements via crowd-sourcing and collective intelligence. Planned for release soon, TruthSpot rewards players for citing public claims, offering quality evidence, and making accurate predictions of truth in a competitive gaming environment. All players in TruthSpot earn TruthBucks(TM) and influence in proportion to their powers of perception, persuasion, and prediction.
"Intense competition in today's world fuels claims, counter-claims, truths, half-truths and total fabrications," said Dr. Hayes-Roth, TruthSeal's CEO. "People are bombarded daily with conflicting information. It's hard to know what to believe. Public confidence is fading, while suspicions are surging, leaving trust a scarce commodity.
"TruthSeal created this Marketplace for Truth Telling to address the widespread cynicism and distrust evident in political and commercial discourse. We are committed to operating a fair market where evidence-based claims enable truth to prevail.
"In a world where lying often pays and truth often goes unrewarded, TruthSeal can tilt the playing field, so truth tellers win and their voices are heard above the noise," concluded Dr. Hayes-Roth.
