Siri is the virtual "personal assistant" on the iPhone 4S that uses sophisticated voice-recognition to perceive the meaning of natural human speech, without the need to use any Siri-specific grammar. And Siri asks questions in a pleasant feminine voice if she needs more information to complete a task.
"Ever since the iPhone 4S burst on the scene in mid-October, Siri has attracted most attention for her often hilarious responses, but she also has serious capabilities," said Jodi Dery, developer of the website. "LifeWithSiri.com is the first website to introduce a daily service to keep up with Siri, presenting each morning new screenshots of both a laugh-provoking Siri Quip and an especially useful Siri Tip."
"We feel that presenting Siri's responses in this concise daily format will help people remember the best questions to ask Siri and the best way to get good results. And, for those who have an appetite to feast on lots of Siri responses at one time, we also provide easy access to our fast-growing database of over 300 Siri responses, along with links to many other Siri-related webpages and videos," Dery added.
Siri's responses have, according to Dery, "have provided tons of fun and surprises." For example, if you ask Siri "Where do babies come from?" Siri is likely to respond: "I found some baby stores fairly close to you" followed by the names and addresses of those stores.
Some Siri answers can be jarring, but still funny. If you hear someone saying on their iPhone "I need to hide a body," you shouldn't call the police. Chances are that the iPhone user is trying to entertain a friend, knowing that Siri's response is likely to be: "What kind of place are you looking for? Reservoirs... Dumps... Swamps... Metal Foundries... Mines... ?"
If you ask Siri, "What is the meaning of life," you are likely to get many clever responses, such as: "I find it odd that you would ask this of an inanimate object" or "All evidence suggests it's chocolate" or "Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try to live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations."
The specific tips will cover areas such as querying contacts, finding contacts, relationships, adding events, changing events, asking about events, setting alarms, using a timer, sending messages, checking messages, responding to messages, checking up on friends, finding places, getting directions, sending texts, reading texts, replying to texts, playing music, creating and finding notes, making phone calls, requesting reminders, checking the market, checking the weather forecast, searching the web for information, etc.
Since LifeWithSiri.com is a daily service, what you will see each day on the website or receive by email, at your option, will be different than what you saw the previous day.
