Last Chance for Bernie Madoff iPad Covers, FrederickJames.com
Collectors Can Own A Piece of U.S. Criminal History; Includes a Steve Jobs In Memoriam cover
NEW YORK, Nov. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FrederickJames.com, a website that sells eco-friendly customized iPad covers, has released its second and final limited edition Bernie Madoff Collection that is now on sale. The 59 iPad covers have been re-fashioned from the convicted felon's pants, sweaters and sweatshirts bought at the Madoff U.S. Marshalls auction.
When Frederick James released the first Bernie Madoff Collection this spring, it was an instant hit with both media and consumers. The collection sold out in a few days and media around the world covered the creative idea. The first batch was only some of the Madoff clothing Frederick James founder John Vaccaro purchased at auction and as a result of its success he decided to do a second and final batch of covers with the remaining clothing purchased. The covers this time include pants from Banana Republic, Loro Piana, Lacoste, and Polo by Ralph Lauren and sweaters by Polo, Bogner and Prada. In addition, there are Champion and Jerzees sweatshirts. Some of the iPad covers made from the sweatshirts include the logos for PENN, MICHIGAN, SY SYMS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS and the town of MONTAUK where Madoff summered. The collection can be seen at http://www.frederickjames.com/collections/the-bernie-madoff
Vaccaro says, "We had such a great response to the first batch of covers, that knew we had to use the remaining clothing for a second and final batch in time for the Holidays. They are a perfect gift for the person who has everything, for the financial professional in your life or for PENN, MICHIGAN or SYMS alums."
Two of the Madoff covers are part of the Frederick James In Memoriam Collection. The first In Memoriam covers are to honor former Apple CEO, Steve Jobs. Jobs often wore a pair of Levi 501 jeans and a black mock turtleneck. Frederick James fashioned a pair of Levi 501 jeans into 4 iPad covers and lined 2 of them with a Bernie Madoff Prada sweater and 2 with a St. Croix Black Mock Turtleneck (purportedly, the brand worn by Jobs).
