Social Plan Aggregator Company Lists the NYE Hotspots to Ring in 2012
NEW YORK, Dec. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hotlist (http://www.Hotlist.com) CEO Chris Mirabile expects New Year's Eve to be one of the most trafficked days in the platform's history, as users stay on top of plans for one of the biggest social holidays of the year.
The social plan aggregator anticipates a great deal of traffic on its website platform and iPhone application with users looking for the best places to ring in 2012. The application can access information such as crowd size, girl-to-guy ratio, and where each user's friends plan to be, all helping make celebration choices.
"City-by-city, around the world, people are indicating where they plan to celebrate the evening," said Mirabile, whose Hotlist platform aggregates plans of more than 100 million people. "From New York to LA, London to Sydney, Hotlist can lead you to the right place at the right time."
The Hotlist CEO will also visit the NASDAQ MarketSite to ring the Opening Bell at 9:30 a.m. EST on Dec. 28, 2011, in Times Square in celebration of the introduction of the "Only In The Alley" 2012 calendar. The calendar was co-produced with SNAP Interactive and features 12 of Silicon Alley's most innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs.
"Hotlist and SNAP Interactive, along with the other tech startups featured in OnlyInTheAlley.com, are proud to represent New York City's startup scene by ringing NASDAQ's Opening Bell, only days before the city rings in the New Year here in Times Square," said Mirabile.
Based in New York City's "Silicon Alley," Hotlist covers the social plans of more than 100 million people worldwide, then combines this with each person's Facebook friends, location and interests to generate personalized "Hotlists" of recommended events and places. Co-founded by Chris Mirabile and Gianni Martire, Hotlist takes virtual peeks into places, hours or days in advance, to see who plans to be there (even if they're not yet on Hotlist). It includes event details, girl/guy ratios and Facebook profile photos of the expected crowd in more than 2.7 million venues across 40,000 cities. Users can "Follow" their favorite friends, places and interests to receive notifications of what will be happening among them, then "Plan" their own social get-togethers with friends. Hotlist was named as a "Top 100 Website" by PC Magazine and nominated for "Best Location-Based Service" and "Best Use of an API" at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show.
