Trilogy Studios Teams-Up to Bring The Official Despicable Me Storybook to iTunes App Store
New App Engages and Inspires Readers with Interactive Content
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Trilogy Studios is proud to announce the next adventure in their award-winning Touch Tale series of digital storybooks. Developed through a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, the Despicable Me Storybook is now available on the iTunes App Store for iPad(TM). The storybook is also coming to iPhone®, iPod touch® and Android devices. Based on Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me, the storybook tells the story in an interactive fashion with elements that turn the reader into an active participant in unique ways.
The storybook application includes three distinct features, enticing parents and children with an opportunity for learning and exploration. The Interactive Storybook allows users to engage with the adventure in new and humorous ways, while read-a-long narration simultaneously benefits young users in reading comprehension. Dr. Nefario's Blueprints allows users to draw, step-by-step, some of Gru's most despicable ideas and bring them to life. Despicable Sounds provides immediate access to dozens of your favorite movie quotes, encouraging users to see what fun and unique combinations they can create.
"The Despicable Me Storybook is a completely unique experience," said Brady Bell, Creative Director of Trilogy Studios. "We wanted to go far beyond the standard storybook offerings and give fans something truly fresh and fun."
Despicable Me Storybook is the fourth release in the Trilogy Touch series of interactive books, including: Crockett Johnson's classic children's tales Harold and the Purple Crayon and Harold at the North Pole and Penguin Books, Ladybug Girl. Says Bell, "When the best content is paired with partners who are truly committed to pushing the envelope, consumers get innovative experiences. The Despicable Me Storybook app is an example of just that."
About Despicable Me (The Movie)
In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal's 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me.
Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.
One of the world's greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes. http://www.despicable.me
