Cinchcast, Inc. Issued Patent for Interactive Audio Publishing Solution
Patented solution integrates conference bridge with streaming technologies to simplify online events and enhance participant engagement
NEW YORK, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cinchcast, Inc., the leading provider of online audio publishing and management solutions, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued it a patent for a "method and system for providing an audio conference." The patent, US Patent 8,098,807, which was originally filed in April 2007 and issued in January 2012, acknowledges Cinchcast's innovative solution for integrating a conference bridge with the web to enable real-time audio streaming.
Existing enterprise level conferencing and collaboration solutions do not provide an integrated solution for simultaneous online streaming and self-service moderation of callers. Cinchcast's patented technology enables companies of all sizes to create and share live-streamed events that can scale to thousands of participants, while providing self-service caller moderation via a browser-based switchboard.
"When we created the Cinchcast platform in Fall of 2006, we believed that we had invented a new way to use the phone. In essence, we transformed the phone into a publishing platform," said Alan Levy, CEO and founder of Cinchcast. "The Cinchcast platform's unique ability to marry the conference bridge with a live online audio stream enables companies to create, moderate and share interactive audio content to extend their reach and engage the people that are most important to their businesses. I am really excited that the USPTO has recognized this valuable technology with the grant of this patent."
Online publishers, marketing and public relations professionals, meeting and event planners, and online training specialists rely on Cinchcast to broadcast live events or record and archive audio content for on-demand playback. The content created using Cinchcast can be used privately or publicly, and the platform can accommodate individual voice recordings as well as moderated multi-party conversations. Cinchcast's built -in syndication and social marketing tools, reporting, and monetization capabilities allow companies to maximize the impact of their audio content and communications.
