Russia Beyond the Headlines (RBTH), an internationally recognized source of news about
Russia, announced the release of the new version of its iPad application RBTH for iPad:
Touch Russia (http://rbth.ru/ipad).

Russia Beyond the Headlines is a multimedia platform for political, business and
cultural news and analysis. It offers original, on-the-ground coverage of Russia from
professional, independent journalists who are passionate and knowledgeable about the
country. RBTH publishes monthly supplements about Russia in the leading global media, like
"New York Times" (United States), the "Washington Post" (United States), the "Daily
Telegraph" (UK) and others.

This iPad application "Russia Beyond the Headlines: Touch Russia" contains content
from the organization's flagship website

    http://rbth.ru

and print editions especially repackaged for the iPad experience. It also offers a
host of unique features, including an interactive map of Russia. The app was developed by
UK-based Tigerspike, known for its work with the digital editions of leading media
organizations. "Russia Beyond the Headlines" application can be downloaded here:

Russia Beyond the Headlines for iPad 1.2 improves the user experience with the
interactive map and images of Russia, bringing experience of the newspaper to your iPad.

Since the successful introduction of Russia Beyond the Headline for iPad last year,
thousands of people have downloaded the app and participated in the Touch Russia photo
competition, which was begun with the video of a young American man Cody White who posted
his experience "touching Russia" (http://vimeo.com/35507638) on Vimeo and YouTube. The
Guardian, one of the leading newspapers in United Kingdom, chose this video as one of the
best adventure travel videos on the web (

Users of RBTH application comment on iTunes:

Christopher Bates: "This app combines beautiful multimedia with interesting articles
and current affairs from Russia. Very well designed and a joy to use. Well done to the
developers."

Gezzeroflondon: "This is a very well presented app that allows me to further my
interest in the politics, culture and people of Russia."

As the theme of "touching Russia" became such a success, Russia Beyond the Headlines
decided to continue it on the Tumblr blog "Touch Russia." (
http://www.touchrussia.tumblr.com)

Cody White will be contributing to the blog with his own column dedicated to his
experience living in Moscow. He will share his memories and impressions of Russia with the
public, pose questions to the readers and answer their queries. His column will also be
available on our website, rbth.ru and in the app.
