Objective of combined companies is to become industry leader through advancements in technology and service
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ADLINK Technology, a trusted global source for embedded building blocks and application-ready platforms, is combining with recently acquired LiPPERT Embedded Computers GmbH to become the foremost provider of modular computing products and lead the accelerating growth of the modular computing market. According to market intelligence provider VDC Research, the worldwide market for computer-on-modules (COM) alone is expected to grow to approximately US$883MM by 2015.*
Established in 1987 and located in Mannheim, Germany, LiPPERT has upwards of 40 employees who offer predominantly R&D and technical experience in the design and manufacture of quality embedded PC systems for rugged environments. LiPPERT promotes its products with the well-known LiPPERT brand through established sales networks in vertical markets that require high-quality, modular computing products for critical applications such as automation, transportation, medical, and defense.

"Leveraging LiPPERT's solid design methodology and process will help ADLINK enhance the overall quality of our embedded PC products and more effectively apply application-specific design to a variety of environment-critical markets; the companies have an incredible synergy with respect to production, costs, market development, and product comprehensiveness," explained Jim Liu, ADLINK CEO. "With the addition of LiPPERT's technical team and the unique value of Lippert's Enhanced Management Technology (LEMT), ADLINK can better support its European customers and increase its global market share in module computing."
Peter Lippert, founder and CEO of Lippert Embedded Computers, will become the Vice President and General Manager in charge of ADLINK's Global Module Computing Product Segment, which covers the LiPPERT by ADLINK, Ampro by ADLINK, and COM Express product lines. The LiPPERT by ADLINK product line strengthens ADLINK's PC/104, COM, and embedded motherboard offerings.
"Initially, nothing will change at LiPPERT; the products will continue to be manufactured, or, Made in Germany," said Daniel Yang, ADLINK President. "ADLINK will see many advancements with this acquisition in terms of our technical services and relationships with trading partners in Europe. We have the resources to support expanded customization services for existing and new customers in Europe, and - with advanced technology from LiPPERT and the worldwide salesforce of ADLINK - we are confident that the new company is positioned to quickly become the dominate player in the modular computing space."
