Electrix New Zealand Chooses ClickSoftware's Enterprise Mobility Cloud Platform
Cloud service will enable Electrix New Zealand to precisely capture gas callouts field data on mobile devices in order to meet government regulation and increase customer satisfaction
BURLINGTON, Massachusetts, March 28, 2012/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd [http://www.clicksoftware.com ]. (NasdaqGS: CKSW), the
leading provider of automated mobile workforce management and optimization solutions
[http://www.clicksoftware.com/solutions/index.asp ] for the service industry, today
announced that Electrix New Zealand, the largest gas service provider in New Zealand,
chose the ClickSoftware cloud-based Enterprise Mobility Platform in order to enhance
mobile workforce capabilities. The solution, which will be used in Electrix New Zealand's
Reactive Gas Department, will reduce administration, improve response times and provide
clearer visibility of its historical performance for their customers.
The mobility solution will enable Electrix to rapidly alert engineers to a gas
callout, providing them with all the information they need to deal with each situation
safely via their mobile devices. The advanced functionality will also update the company's
systems with the real-time progress engineers are making. This means that data will be
captured effortlessly to be used for auditing, measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
and improving future performance. The lengthy manual process currently used to record
information will be eliminated, instead engineers will, via their mobile handsets, be
guided through workflows to ensure the right information is recorded at the right time
before they can move on to the next stage in each job.
"As part of our commitment to the regulator and our customers, the timings of each
reactive gas callout need to be recorded, and accurate to within one minute, and all
instances of data need to be 100% aligned," said Gerry Thompson, Gas Services Divisional
Manager at Electrix New Zealand. "ClickSoftware's enterprise mobility provides the
opportunity to streamline and automate this process, alleviating data inconsistencies,
reducing time spent on administration and improving productivity. This process needs to be
robust which is why we turned to ClickSoftware; from our extensive research they
demonstrated the most advanced and proven mobile solution on the market."
Utilizing ClickSoftware's enterprise-grade Cloud infrastructure, Electrix New Zealand
is able to rapidly deploy the required solution for its Gas Division, without placing
additional load on the IT department. Electrix is then able to leverage the cloud service
to expand and contract to meet the changing needs of its Gas operations.
"While safety is the main priority for utility suppliers, regulatory demands and a
desire to increase efficiency are pushing the sector to adopt cost-effective, scalable
technologies," said Hannan Carmeli , President and COO of ClickSoftware.
"Electrix New Zealand is leading the industry by moving to a cloud-based enterprise
mobility platform. ClickSoftware is proud to provide the technology that will enable a
rapid and effective resolution to reactive gas incidents. It also provides the company a
system to more easily capture the data needed for customers and executives to make
decisions about future performance improvements."
