Endomondo Android App Adds Interval Training and Multi-Platform Sync
Upgrades Include Endomondo Users' Most Requested Feature, Making the Sports Tracker App the Hub for Connected, Social Workouts
COPENHAGEN, March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Interval training is one of the most effective ways to improve performance for runners. That's why it's a major new feature in the latest Android version of the Sports Tracker app for Endomondo, the social fitness network that turns the mobile phone into a full-fledged personal trainer and social fitness partner.

Available exclusively in the paid Pro version of Endomondo Sports Tracker, the interval feature lets users create custom workouts by defining intervals and includes an audio coach to guide them through each step. The interval feature was Endomondo users' most requested feature and is available for free to those who already have the Pro version.
Both the Pro and free versions of the Android app also now include a multi-platform sync feature that automatically updates workout statistics across multiple platforms for easier tracking and social sharing. For example, a workout that's tracked using one of Garmin's Endomondo-ready devices, or entered manually on the Endomondo website, is automatically synced with the Android app.
"When Endomondo users talk, we listen, and they made it clear that interval training is a must-have feature for taking their workouts to the next level," said Mette Lykke, co-founder. "We offer runners three pre-defined interval programs but they also have the option of creating their own program. If a friend creates a great program, you can easily set that program up for yourself too. With this update Endomondo Sport Tracker really continues to be the hub for making exercise more fun, motivating and social."
Both the free and the Pro version of the app are available for download from Google Play. The Pro version is priced at $3.99.
