NHN Japan: Release of Official Camera App "LINE camera" for Android (iPhone ver coming soon) - The 2nd Additional Service for Free Calling/Messaging App "LINE"
TOKYO, April 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NHN Japan Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "NHN Japan") announced on April 13 the release of the official camera app "LINE camera" (free and available on Android, with an iPhone version coming soon) for its free calling and free messaging app "LINE" (http://line.naver.jp/). The app allows users to edit and decorate photos easily using LINE's popular characters, and send them directly to friends via LINE and other SNS.

LINE is a smartphone app which allows users to enjoy free calls and messages to one another, both nationally and internationally, regardless of which mobile network provider they are using. Currently, it is used by over 28 million users in 231 countries worldwide, including 11 million users in Japan as of April 9.
Following the release of the official greeting card app for LINE, "LINE Card" on March 28, NHN Japan is proud to announce the second additional service for LINE, "LINE camera". This camera app allows users to easily edit and decorate saved photos taken using smartphone cameras, and to directly send the finished photos to friends and groups connected via LINE.
With characters from LINE's "Sticker function" (a communication feature using ultra-expressive character icons) making an appearance, users can edit, decorate and give an original touch to their photos using a vast array of editing tools including over 600 stamps, over 100 different frames, 14 types of filters and 156 types of brushes, as well as photo-text functions and more.
In addition to LINE, users are also able to share the decorated photos using Twitter, Facebook, mixi, Weibo, Me2day, and Cyworld.
The iPhone version is also scheduled to be released within the next few days.
LINE will continually aim to promote active communication between users, and to achieve this, will implement additional services as well as making continuous improvements to its existing functions.
