Net Texts to Unveil Its Groundbreaking New Educational iPad App

Free App to Revolutionize How Educators Connect With Students

Global Launch to be Held at New York's Historic Morgan Library on April 17th

NEW YORK, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On April 17, Net Texts, a global leader in educational technology development, will launch its innovative new iPad App that aims to transform the way teachers and students connect both in and outside of the classroom.  The app, which will be available free of charge, replaces conventional textbooks with tablets by organizing and delivering the wide and growing array of Open Educational Resources already freely available on the Internet.  Net Texts' founder and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Messner, plans to display the app at a celebratory launch event to be held at the New York's historic Morgan Library.

The event follows a pilot program where education foundations donated iPads to 300 8th grade students in six Atlanta schools.  Students and teachers in these schools agreed to completely replace traditional textbooks with Net Texts for an entire school year, while Net Texts received feedback and input to improve its course materials for both educators and learners.

"Following the successful trial of Net Texts through our pilot in Atlanta, we are excited for the broader release of our program," noted Michael Messner, Net Texts founder and philanthropist.  "The education system dramatically needs to revolutionize the way it relates to students in the 21st century, and we believe Net Texts will empower students, teachers, and families to be engaged more fully in the learning process."

The Net Texts app is also being piloted at the St. Michael School in Netcong, New Jersey. John Eriksen, Superintendent responsible for St. Michael School, praised Net Texts: "Our school is thrilled to be one of the first to use this dynamic and cutting edge learning tool. Net Texts is at the front of the pack in the educational space."

Net Texts' dynamic iPad-based educational system revolutionizes the learning experience for students and teachers alike by allowing teachers to easily design rich, customized multimedia courses accessible on students' iPads, instead of a backpack filled with heavy books which frequently are outdated, not reflecting current events.

The Net Texts system has two parts - the website that teachers use to select and customize their course materials, and the Net Texts iPad app (available for free on the iTunes app store) that allows students and teachers to use those courses. According to Net Texts Chief Technology Officer Prasant Varghese, "Our team has made painstaking efforts to create a simple, easy-to-use system that would help take the learning process to a whole new level."
