Millions of Babylon users around the globe will now be able to click on any term from
any desktop application and receive immediate results to Czech and Polish in a small
pop-up window on their screen.
Babylon English-Czech and English Polish Dictionaries contain words, phrases,
abbreviations, acronyms, and interjections. They include terms from a vast variety of
subjects, such as Medicine, Electronics, Zoology, Business, Computers, etc., and feature
both the American and British forms of spelling.
"The need for English-Czech and English-Polish dictionaries has increased
significantly over the past few years along with the growth of internet penetration in the
Czech Republic and Poland." Dalia Preisler, Content and Linguistics Director.
"English-Czech and English-Polish dictionaries, just like all Babylon's proprietary
dictionaries, are enabled with a morphological engine which facilitates recognition of all
inflected forms of single words and phrases, provides all forms of terms that include
prefixes and extensions and supplies a solution for all formats of writing", continues
Mrs. Preisler. "These dictionaries come in addition to the Czech and Polish Wikipedia we
launched a few years ago, enabling one click access to encyclopedic terms in Czech and
Polish".
"We are now in the process of compiling the reverse Czech-English and Polish-English
dictionaries in order to provide our users bidirectional comprehensive dictionaries, which
will contain more than 110,000 words and translations."
Babylon also announces that it has added Wikipedia in Hindi language; thus now
provides results and access to Wikipedia, the biggest multilingual free encyclopedia on
the Internet, in 27 languages.
