New Mobile App Turns iPhone Into Self-Defense Tool
NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SafeSnapp(TM) has released the most innovative, only one of its kind, self-defense tool on the market for the iPhone. This unique mobile app potentially saves lives; designed to deter an attacker from advancing on a potential victim.
"We just got tired of seeing news stories where someone disappears and nobody knows what happened," says SafeSnapp President Joseph Bertagnolli. "So we decided to do something about it."
How it works: SafeSnapp(TM) provides iPhone users with the ability of placing a would-be attacker at the exact time and location with the potential victim before an attack can happen. If someone feels threatened for any reason, they simply tap the SafeSnapp(TM) icon, and point their iPhone at the perpetrator. Just one push of a button and SafeSnapp(TM) does the rest. Within seconds, three pictures of the attacker, GPS coordinates, and the user's cell number are sent to the user's email address, an emergency contact and a secure database. Even if the attacker takes or breaks the phone, it's already too late. The images and data are already off the phone, and there's nothing the attacker can do about it.
SafeSnapp(TM) is unlike monthly subscription based services that let you speak to someone if you "sense" trouble. By instantly sending photos of the would-be attacker, GPS location and cell number data to a secure location, SafeSnapp(TM) is the only self-defense app that automatically puts the potential attacker at serious risk of getting caught. "It gives an immediate advantage back to the potential victim," says Bertagnolli. "It makes the attacker choose. Attack and get caught, or don't attack."
Another key element of SafeSnapp(TM) is the secure database accessible by authorities. If an imminent attack can't be prevented, local police and federal agents will have access to the last known coordinates of the victim and have a set of pictures of the attacker.
"It's that kind of information and access that can save lives," says retired Tennessee State Criminal Investigator Jimmy Hester. "This is an app that should be on everyone's iPhone."
SafeSnapp(TM) is a technology based app and is not intended for use on any iPhone prior to the iPhone 4.
