Lakeside Software Opens SysTrack Data with new OpenAPI
Customers accelerate migrations by combining clear usage data with Citrix AppDNA application assessment and planning
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lakeside Software, a leader in business intelligence solutions for IT professionals, announced today it is working with Citrix for AppDNA software installations to be able to utilize the SysTrack OpenAPI to directly access core SysTrack data. Today customers can size and scope migrations by using the SysTrack FastTrack no-charge trial in conjunction with the AppDNA application management software to combine SysTrack detailed application usage and performance metrics with AppDNA deep application assessment and planning capabilities.
SysTrack OpenAPI is a Web Services API designed specifically for application developers. OpenAPI provides deep, performance penalty-free data access into Lakeside Software's patented and massively scalable SysTrack DataMine distributed database architecture. The SysTrack DataMine aggregates node-level data unmatched in depth and granularity to deliver the unprecedented historical and real-time insight into application usage and performance essential for successful application migrations. SysTrack OpenAPI is also available as a PowerShell API ideal for system administrators.
"We're excited to be working with Citrix to enhance the data available to AppDNA software customers," said Brinton Baker, chief marketing officer of Lakeside Software. "The detailed usage and performance metrics collected by SysTrack are well-suited to contribute to the quality of the AppDNA application migration recommendations."
"AppDNA uses SysTrack DataMine data to access key metrics that, initially, allow our users to audit their environment for both known and unknown applications and make informed rationalization decisions based on usage and other factors" said Paul Schnell, VP product engineering for AppDNA, Citrix. "This gives our customers the ability to plan their migrations with greater effectiveness and confidence."
"The integration capability between Lakeside SysTrack and Citrix for AppDNA further enhances our client & application transformation services," said Tom Norton, Director for HP Technology Consulting. "We already leverage both technologies for application discovery, rationalization, assessment, and planning as well as in our client virtualization & client migration services. Tighter integration between the two technologies will further enhance our customers' experience."
"SysTrack is embedded in IBM's Smart Migration and Application Delivery methodology which provides a comprehensive planning approach for Windows, mobility and virtualization planning," said Mary Jane Couldridge, IBM Global Director for Workplace Services, Sales Strategy and Execution, IBM. "IBM utilizes these services to support third-party virtualization solutions such as Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp and Citrix AppDNA software."
