Data City Exchange Announce Collaborative European Cloud Services Sites In Birmingham and Belfast Including VMware And Pivot3

- Cloud testing and demo sites to offer "test drive and showcase" facilities for SME
and enterprise cloud services and platforms -
Data centre service provider Data City Exchange (DCE)

data centre incubator testing facilities at its flagship locations in Titanic Quarter,
Belfast and Birmingham.
Known as Cloudvault [http://www.datacityexchange.com ], the facilities will provide
geographically diverse cloud services [http://www.datacityexchange.com ] demo suites and
form an "on-demand cloud" environment across mainland UK regions and Europe to SMEs,
corporate and public sector customers.
Under pinning the Cloudvault solution is a high speed fibre capacity from diverse
networks linking both sites. The facilities will allow customers to test drive storage and
software applications at the locations ahead of the major DCE data centres planned
initially at Titanic Quarter Belfast and Birmingham.
Cloudvault will feature hardware and software solutions from Pivot3 and VMware,
including its virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) stack and the VMware View platform, and
is expected to feature enterprise solutions from Oracle and SAP among others.
Both Belfast and Birmingham demo suites will be interlinked to create a collaborative
test environment - alongside additional connectivity via Kelvin to the USA - and for
transatlantic application testing, via East Coast USA through DCE Cloudvault test
facilities based in partner data centre locations.
DCE will also launch a Cloud services awareness programme which will includes major
initiatives such as a free trial of cloud services, including the VMware and Pivot 3 VDI
desktop solution, to public sector bodies and SMEs.

The Cloudvault sites will also launch and host the innovative DCE on Demand services
platform, including Bandwidth on Demand and Infrastructure on Demand, along with sector
specific services, such as Storage on Demand for the multi-media and film production
sectors.
Sinclair Stockman, former Chief Information Officer of BT and Executive Chairman of
