PMC Designs Dynamic League of California Cities Website
Website Overhaul Enables City Officials to Effectively Advocate and Become Better Informed
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif., May 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PMC's Web Design Team has completed the development of a vastly improved website for the League of California Cities. Using responsive layouts within the Kentico content management system, the new website incorporates multiple custom features to address all levels, departments, and functions of municipal government. The reorganized layout and organization improves access to information, best practices, enhances collaborations, and provides a powerful advocacy tool for California's cities. The new website can be found at http://www.cacities.org.
The new website includes an innovative member tool box to help city officials find legislation, identify hot issues, and take action on important legislation. The home page also features a real time Twitter feed as well as a video gallery with clips from the League and cities throughout California. The navigation has been reorganized into a primary and secondary scheme to better serve frequent visitors, new users, the public, and the press. The quick-jump navigation on each page enables users to easily navigate to the League's departments, regions, policy committees, newsletters, and listservs.
"PMC did top-quality web work," said Eva Spiegel, League of California Cities communications director. "The project management and programming teams effectively collaborated with each other and the League to ensure that our vision for the site was realized."
PMC paid special attention to creating tools for the League's City Attorneys Department, including a system to streamline the amicus request process and reporting functions to allow staff to track and generate reports on the League's Legal Advocacy Program. PMC also rebuilt the City Attorneys Department's online library containing an extensive archive of materials, which is searchable by key words.
The League of California Cities website redesign represents the latest development in a long series of online tools that PMC has developed for California municipalities. PMC has developed a number of websites and online tools for local California governments and agencies which have improved access to information and encourage public participation in local government.
