More than 220 Corporate Clients, Service Providers Participate in ISG Industry Conferences
Sourcing Leadership Exchange, Sourcing Industry Conference focus on "Operational Excellence in a Dynamic Market"
ISG research shows most clients would choose standard services over custom, most service providers price complex RFPs higher
STAMFORD, Conn., June 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Services Group (ISG) (NASDAQ: III), a leading technology insights, market intelligence and advisory services company, announced today that more than 220 corporate clients and service providers gathered in McLean, Virginia, to participate in its annual industry conferences.
The 2012 ISG Americas Sourcing Leadership Exchange (SLE) and Sourcing Industry Conference (SIC) focused on how economic realities, a changing competitive landscape and the evolution of technology are affecting sourcing strategies today. Other topics discussed at the conferences included the future of the RFP, the benefits of standard services, and understanding pricing and security when buying cloud computing services.
The theme of the SLE, now in its 12(th) year, and the SIC, now in its 17(th) year, was "Operational Excellence in a Dynamic Market."
In a survey of participants conducted in conjunction with the events, a majority of clients said they would choose standard solutions over customized services if they could achieve savings of 40 percent. Meanwhile, most service providers said their pricing is at least 10 percent higher when responding to complex RFPs, and a 'we are different' mentality was cited as the key hurdle to convincing corporate clients to accept a standard solution.
"Our annual conferences provide an excellent forum for leaders in our industry to get together to discuss the opportunities to achieve operational excellence in a dynamic market - as well as the challenges," said Michael P. Connors, Chairman & CEO, ISG. "As our research shows, clients and service providers both stand to gain from the use of more standardized solutions in business and IT operations."
Following pre-conference workshops and one-on-one discussions with ISG leaders, the SLE and SIC each featured a full agenda of general and breakout sessions on important industry subjects. A lively panel featuring ISG partners and special guests - dubbed "ISG Squawk Box" - was presented at both events. At the end of the SIC, the inaugural IAOP-ISG Global Outsourcing Social Responsibility Impact Award was presented to CBRE Group.
ISG will hold its next SLE November 12-13 in Berlin. The next SIC will take place September 25-26 in Bangalore and October 1-2 in London.
