Veracode Releases New eBook "Why Should I Care? Mobile Security for the Rest of Us" at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit
eBook Offers Tips on How Individuals and Organizations can Protect Themselves Against Today's Mobile Computing Threats
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- GARTNER Security & Risk Management Summit -- Veracode, Inc., the leader in cloud-based application security testing, today, released its new eBook "Why Should I Care? Mobile Security for the Rest of Us," at the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit. The eBook outlines the ten steps that can be taken by individuals and organizations to protect against potential security risks brought on by the bring your own device (BYOD) to work trend.

Industry estimates put the number of applications downloaded from the Apple iTunes store and Android Marketplace at 40 billion and the average smartphone user spends more time in mobile apps than they do browsing the web. In addition to their new eBook, Veracode provides a free iPhone app scanning tool called Addressbook Detector for iOS (aka AdiOS) that can examine all the apps on the device and let users know if they are unnecessarily accessing their address book.
