JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Bekins A-1 Movers, Inc. opened a new location at 3740 Pampas Drive in Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, June 18.
This new location will allow Bekins A-1 to serve the needs of the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office (JPPSO) in Jacksonville. The JPPSO provides shipment and storage of personal property for military and civilian members of the armed forces.
Bekins A-1's Jacksonville opening coincides with the JPPSO's regionalization plan. As part of this plan, the Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center in Jacksonville will manage the JPPSO Southeast -- a regional hub for operations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and the Caribbean.
In February 2012, Wheaton Van Lines, Inc. acquired Bekins Van Lines, Inc. in a strategic move designed to bolster both brands. This partnership is providing Bekins A-1 with increased operational capacity and resources for strategic growth. Bekins A-1 Movers, Inc./Bekins Moving Services will now be the largest single-owner agency within the Wheaton-Bekins Family.
