With Apple's new MacBook Pro design making thieves life easy, Maclocks introduces the only security solution
AUSTIN, July 2, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
Just weeks after Apple's introduces the New MacBook Pro (Retina) without the
Kensington security slot, Maclocks, the US leading brand of Apple security & display
solutions does it again, being the first company to release the newMBP Lock.
Apple's introduction of its new MacBook Pro is a part of an evolving trend in the
computer hardware industry to focus on convenience of use and mobility mastered rather
than connectivity. Computer manufacturers compete on providing the lightest and thinnest
laptops & tablets.
Yet at a hefty cost, as devices become thinner the Kensington slot is becoming
obsolete, and so Apple had excluded it from its new MBP design. This decision creates a
new challenge, as many corporations expected to deploy the new MBP, however were amazed by
the fact that Apple, introducing the most advanced notebook on the market, has left out a
way to secure it.
"We have been working alongside Apple which has made a real revolutionary change with
the new MacBook Pro design setting a new standard in performance and portability for pro
users and Maclocks is committed to keep its security product offering up to date" said
Alexander Gad, Maclocks GM. According to the FBI, a laptop is stolen every two minutes-
that requires a fast solution to an epidemic situation. "Our customers expect us to step
up to the plate and be the first to provide a viable anti- theft solution".
The new MBP lock bundle (Retina lock) includes an extremely lightweight security skin
(0.35lbs) and super slim security cable.
