MyHealthDIRECT Healthcare Scheduling Exchange Now Used by Amerigroup-Maryland
Facilitates Scheduling across Provider Networks to Improve Care & Lower Costs
BROOKFIELD, Wis., July 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MyHealthDIRECT, the nation's first and only Healthcare Scheduling Exchange, today announced that it has expanded its partnership with Amerigroup Corporation to include the organization's Maryland provider partners as clients. Amerigroup, which manages publicly funded health programs, has successfully used MyHealthDIRECT's online scheduling capabilities in Tennessee for two years to expedite scheduling to needed healthcare services by aggregating appointment calendars across its Tennessee network into a searchable and schedulable inventory of available openings.
With more than 200,000 members, Amerigroup-Maryland will now use the MyHealthDIRECT system to:
-- Make outbound calls to members in need of preventative services
-- Schedule appointments with members' primary care providers
-- Use the integrated communications system to send appointment reminders
Amerigroup-Maryland began using MyHealthDIRECT's scheduling exchange on March 19th with provider partner Greater Baden Medical Services, which has two locations. Additional clinics will begin using the solution shortly. Overall, Amerigroup serves more than 2 million members in 12 states.
