ecobee Launches New Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Thermostat for Commercial Applications -- The ecobee EMS Si

TORONTO, July 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ecobee Inc., makers of the award-winning Smart and Smart Si thermostats and the EMS (Energy Management System) launched their latest commercial product today, the new EMS Si thermostat.

The ecobee EMS Si thermostat delivers a breadth of great features and ecobee's industry leading energy efficient technology saving commercial customers time, money and energy.  "The ecobee EMS Si is the most cost-effective centralized solution to monitor and control your building's heating and cooling system--all at a fraction of the price of a traditional Building Automation System," said Stuart Lombard, ecobee's President and CEO.  He continued, "Our existing EMS customers are seeing an ROI within weeks or months of installation in addition to significant ongoing energy savings--and we expect nothing less with the EMS Si."

The ecobee EMS Si is Wi-Fi enabled, so it provides facilities personnel and HVAC Service Contractors the ability to control an unlimited number of thermostats across diverse geographies right from their easy-to-use (and secure) ecobee Web Portal. Multiple unique occupancy schedules can be created, and scheduled events can be generated within seconds from anywhere ensuring you are always running the right program, at the right time at the right location. Automatic Alerts and Reminders can be programmed to send instantaneous alerts via email if there is an issue with the HVAC equipment, or when it's time to perform annual maintenance--providing added peace of mind.  In addition, administrators have the ability to conduct remote diagnostics by viewing HVAC Reports through their ecobee Web Portal.

"Many schools, worship facilities, municipal buildings, retail centers, and restaurants across North America are already taking advantage of significant cost and energy savings with ecobee," said Lombard.  Mike Strope, Facilities Staff, at the First Assembly of God Church recently told ecobee "14 ecobee EMS thermostats were installed in our 80,000 sq/ft church in June 2011, and we saw a reduction of nearly 50% in our energy costs within the first two months."

ecobee delivers intelligent energy management solutions. Installed in homes and businesses across North America, the ecobee Open Energy Management Platform is the easiest way for residential and commercial customers to understand, manage and reduce their energy consumption. Servicing both the Utility and HVAC markets, ecobee's line of WiFi enabled thermostats, online web portals and smart phone apps are the products of choice for ease of use, energy efficiency and demand response programs. ecobee has also won significant industry awards which include the ASHRAE/AHR Innovation Award for Building Automation, the Dealer Design Gold and Silver Awards and the Deloitte Green 15, among others. ecobee is supported by a network of over 2,000 quality HVAC contractors and distributors across North America.
